About me

Hi! I’m Surya.

I am a mathematician who likes to work on problems in geometry and representation theory that explore ideas in high energy physics. For more details check out my research page or my CV.

Since 2023 I have been a Gibbs Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Yale University, and as of Fall 2025, I am fortunate to be additionally supported by an NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. During the 2024-25 academic year I had a brief stint as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Mathematics at University of Edinburgh.

Before coming to Yale, I completed my PhD in mathematics at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the University of Toronto, and before that, I was an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin.
